Independent project advisory

Stalled project rescue

The builder's gone quiet, the costs keep climbing, or something just doesn't look right. You need a calm, independent view fast.

What I do first

  • Visit site and record exactly what's been built and to what standard.
  • Compare it with the contract, the drawings and what you've paid.
  • Establish whether you've overpaid for the work done.
  • Check building control status and any outstanding inspections.

Then a plan

You get a written audit and a practical route to completion. That might mean resetting the programme with your current builder, a formal notice, or scoping the remaining work so another builder can price it properly. If you want me to manage the finish, I'll quote a fixed fee for that separately.

I'm not a solicitor. Where a dispute needs legal advice, I'll tell you and give you the evidence your solicitor will need.

Questions

How quickly can you visit?

Usually within a week, sooner if work has stopped and the building is exposed to weather.

Can you deal with the builder for me?

Yes, if you want me to. Many clients find a professional go-between lowers the temperature and gets faster answers.

Not sure what help you need?

Tell me about your project and I'll tell you honestly whether you need me.
