What to tell me
You don't need to prepare anything, but the call is more useful if you can say roughly where you are on these. If you don't know yet, that's fine and often the reason to talk.
- What you're building and where the property is.
- Roughly what budget you have in mind for the build.
- Where you've got to: no drawings yet, drawings in progress, planning applied for, approved, or already on site.
- When you hope to start, and anything that fixes the date.
- What's worrying you, if something already is.
If you have builders' quotes already, send them over before the call and I'll have read them by the time we speak.
What happens next
- We talk for twenty minutes. No charge and no obligation.
- I tell you honestly whether the project needs an independent adviser, and which parts would actually earn their fee.
- If I can help, you get a written scope and a fixed fee before anything starts. If you don't need me, I'll say so and point you at what to do instead.
Where I work
Chester, the Wirral, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham. If you're just outside that, ask anyway.
